YAANW Annual Picnic
Join YAANW for a Picnic at Beard’s Plaisance at the SW Corner of Lake Harriet (4525 Upton Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55410).
This is a new location for us and it is a welcoming site for all ages. Stop in after a walk around Lake Harriet, take the toddler’s to the playground and meet your Yale friends or just hang out for 3 hours and help grill. We are upgrading our menu items compliments of our new Board Member “X” Xioteng Huang, foodie extraordinaire.

Yale Spizzwinks in Minneapolis
The Yale Spizzwinks(?) are America's oldest underclassmen a Capella group, performing their unique tongue-in-cheek humor for Minneapolis Club and Yale Alumni.
The Spizzwinks perform concerts all over the world. American concert highlights include singing at the US State Department, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, and for Lady Gaga! Internationally, they have performed in Beijing, Istanbul and Cape Town.

President Salovey at MIA
The Yale Alumni Association of the Northwest invites you to join us for a rare reception and talk with Peter Salovey, the 23rd president of Yale University and the Chris Argyris professor of psychology. President Salovey is coming to the Twin Cities for a special visit with Yale alumni and families.
The price for the event is $40 per person ($25 for recent alums), which includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and private access to adjacent galleries. Registration is required by April 20.

Special Speaking Event at Owamni by The Sioux Chef
As part of the Yale Alumni Association’s Redpath Speaker Program, Paul Freedman, the Chester D. Tripp Professor of History at Yale, will share his specialized knowledge of the cultural history of cuisine with alumni on March 2, 2023 at an evening dinner event to be held at Owamni, the award-winning restaurant of The Sioux Chef, Sean Sherman. Owamni features indigenous cuisine of Mni Sota Makoce and is located inside the Water Works Pavilion in Mill Ruins Park at 420 South First Street in Minneapolis, between 3rd Avenue South and 5th Avenue South.
The price for the event is $85 per person, which includes a three-course family-style meal prepared from Owamni’s award-winning modern Indigenous menu. A cash bar featuring wine and mocktails will also be available. Because seating is limited to 40, a registration may be only for up to two people. This will be a special event!

Botticelli and Renaissance Florence: Masterworks from the Uffizi
Join Katie Luber, MA ’85, Minneapolis Institute of Art’s Nivin and Duncan MacMillan Director and President for coffee and a discussion on the current Botticelli and Renaissance Florence: Masterworks from the Uffizi special exhibit. Katie will join us in conversation before optional self-guided tours of the exhibit.
Coffee and conversation will be from 10-11 am. Half-price VIP Exhibit tickets offer admission to the exhibit at anytime without reservations.

The annual YAANW financial and investment panel luncheon will occur in the Club Room at the Minneapolis Club on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 12:00 noon.

Camp Yale Emeritus
The days are getting shorter and cooler, which can only mean one thing: it's time for Camp Yale! Camp Yale Emeritus is an annual event named for the fun time between when residential colleges open and when classes begin. Events are held at various cities to welcome newcomers and bring alumni together for a group social. This year we'll meet at Graze in the North Loop for a fun happy hour. Drink and food are on your own tab, but Bulldogs of the Last Decade (BOLD) alumni (classes of 2012-2022) will get a free drink as a welcome to Minneapolis!
Haven't been to a Yale alumni event before? This is an easy, low-stakes way to get to know the other alumni in the area or to unwind after a day at work over good company, yummy food, and/or a drink of your choice. We hope to see you there!

Summer Outing, 2022
The 2022 YAANW annual summer dinner and outing will be at Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata on August 30. Optional golf, tennis, and pop ball will be followed by a cocktail hour, dinner, a presentation, and reunion reports. The picnic shelter at Como Park is southwest of Midway Parkway, near the mini golf. It is not part of the picnic pavilions near the baseball fields.
