Yale Day of Service 2012

2012 Yale Day of Service in Minnesota

The Yale Day of Service was once again a wonderful success in Minnesota.

55 people serving at 4 sites – Feed My Starving Children, People Serving People Shelter, Open Arms and Cedar Lake Park – spent several hours on May 12th packing food for hungry children around the world, cleaning and providing maintenance to a multifaceted shelter for the homeless, transporting meals to the seriously ill, and pulling out invasive plants to improve a park for use by all who travel through it, respectively.

The resounding sentiment was that it was a productive, rewarding and fun way to spend a few hours. It was also fun to catch up with old friends and meet new people with ties to New Haven.

After the site work, 27 people got together for a potluck lunch at the home of YAANW board member, Nick Johnson. It was a lovely setting with delicious food, a time to talk about the day and another opportunity to catch up and meet alums in a more informal venue. Also great fun!

We are looking forward to the Yale Day of Service for next year already. Come join us for another great day!
