YAANW Community Service Summer Fellowships

Our Community Service Summer Fellowship Program was endowed by a gift from George Pillsbury ’43, and since 1994 our club has been able to sponsor eight-week paid fellowships for nine Yale students at local non-profit organizations. If you’d like to participate or can house an enthusiastic student for a few weeks this summer, please call Bob Sidenberg at 612.339.8925.

In 1999, we sponsored Anna Erickson ’00 at The Green Institute, an organization engaged in community development through sustainable enterprise, job creation and environmental education, located in the Phillips neighborhood in Minneapolis. Thanks to Bob Sidenberg ’69 for setting this up, and Conley Brooks, Jr. ’68 (and family) for housing Anna.

We hope that a student from the School of Forestry and Environmental Science will accept a fellowship at the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy. Our club will sponsor this fellowship through the support of generous alumni.
