    In recent years, the Spizzwinks have toured the globe, performing for audiences in Asia, Africa, South America, Europe and all around the United States, including ESPN, Carnegie Hall, Disney World, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Severance Hall and the White House. The Spizzwinks(?) this year feature four singers from Minnesota.

    Wendy Wasserstein’s Third at the Guthrie Theater
    There’s a Yale Law School alumni outing on Saturday, March 15th to see the matinee performance of Third by Wendy Wasserstein (MFA ’76) at the Guthrie Theater, followed by a post-show discussion with one or two of the performers. The matinee is at 1:00 and our alums are meeting at 11:30 for lunch in the café before hand. We have some extra tickets to the matinee and didn’t know if any Yale Club folks would be interested in joining our group.     An Evening with the Minnesota Orchestra
    You are invited to join your fellow Yale alumni for a production of La Traviata at the Minnesota Orchestra.
    Maureeen O’Flynn captivated us in last year’s La Boh�me. Rising star Michael Fabiano plays Alfredo to her Violetta. The 23-year-old phenomenon, the 2007 winner of the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Auditions, is already earning rave reviews around the globe. Join us at 6:30 pm and afterwords a chance to talk to members of the MN Orchestra who attended Yale.

    Minnesota Dance Theatre and a Duke Ellington style jazz ensemble joins the Minnesota Orchestra to present original music from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, paired with Ellington’s jazz transcriptions. Dancers in both styles add a fascinating visual element.
