    Buendorf Organ Concert
    Organist Timothy D. Buendorf MM ’92, ISM ’92 will be in concert with the University of Minnesota Brass Choir (David Baldwin DMA ’74, conductor). The program will include Gabrieli’s Sonata No. 20 for Five Ensembles (four brass groups, plus organ, in surround-sound), the Poeme Herioque by Marcel Dupre, and other works by Strauss, Bach, Mussorgsky and Widor. (OK, I don’t know what they mean by surround-sound, but this is great music by top-notch performers.) This is not a YAANW-sponsored event. The church is handicap accessible.

    Paul Jacobs Concert
    Virtuoso organist Paul Jacobs, a master’s student at the Yale School of Music, will honor the tenth anniversary of Olivier Messiaen’s death by performing the great French composer’s complete organ works in a Messiaen Marathon. He’s going to play for 10 hours straight! Starting at 8 pm, as he nears exhaustion, KSJN 99.5FM will start a live broadcast.

    Reception for Photographer Andrea Modica ’85 M.F.A.
    Please join us for wine, cheese and hors d’oeuvres at the Weinstein Gallery.
    Andrea Modica received her BFA from SUNY Purchase and her MFA from Yale. Her preferred camera is the 8 by 10 inch view camera, which she employs to make large format negatives for contact printing in the platinum/palladium process. A past Guggenheim fellow, Modica has been exhibited and collected by institutions throughout North America and Europe. Her monographs include Minor League (1993)Treadwell (1996), and Human Being (2001). She currently lives in Colorado.
    Ms. Modica will show prints from several of her projects and share her artistic vision. Copies of her books will be available for sale.
